tbt 2015 ... looking "swole" to say the least 😂 . This was me weighing around 92kg (12kg more than I weigh now) during an experimental phase with a hardcore bodybuilding style of training (and no, I did not and have never taken steroids). . My training included 6 days / week of a typical 'bro split' and little to no cardio. . The training was hard and it dominated my life. . Did I pack on muscle? Yes. . Did I (look) in good shape? Yes. . (FYI this pic Isn't a good indication as I was just super pumped from occlusion training 😂). . But here's the reality - I FELT LIKE SHIT. . I distinctly remember that I had to sleep about 10 hours / night and nap in the day because I was so often fatigued. . I remember having a persistent nagging pain in my left shoulder and between my shoulder blades. . I remember being EXTREMELY self conscious about how I looked. Honestly, I thought my arms looked small and was obsessed with improving them. . I remember how much of a nightmare food prep was and how this negatively impacted my lifestyle choices (v rigid / unbalance) . So, to sum it all up, it was a fairly miserable experience and completely unsustainable for me. . BUT, I would not trade this experience for the world. . I learned so much about training, both good and bad. . I learned so much about the real "WHY" I train. . This is not a post to bash a particular style of training. Each to their own. .
